On 10/8/2018, Seattle Fire responded to a basement fire which had spread to the exterior of a commercial structure. One of SDOT’s traffic cams happened to be in a great place to capture the response. No injuries, and no word on cause.

I had to leave for work so the video ends before the fire is tapped, but it was seemed well under control.

Video highlights:
3:50 – smoke suddenly expands and engulfs the street
4:25 – L5 extends its outriggers
5:50 – Line coming from the left most engine is charged
6:12 – E40 charges the wrong line
9:26 – L8 arrives, and does some nice tiller drifting
9:53 – Firebuff unit / FF support arrives

Units dispatched:

Engines 16, 17, 21, 22, 24, 26, 31, 38, 40
Ladders 5, 8, 9, 10
Battalion 4, 6, 7
