A former Bothell City Council member was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a 20-year-old woman was found dead inside a south Seattle home.

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), officers responded to a report of a “possible homicide” just before 4 p.m. at a home on the 4600 block of South Orchard Street in the city’s Brighton neighborhood.

A 58-year-old man, who was treated for injuries by the Seattle Fire Department and taken to Harborview Medical Center, was arrested for investigation of murder, according to the SPD. He was booked into King County jail.

In a statement, the city of Bothell identified the man who was arrested Tuesday as former Bothell City Councilmember James McNeal.
