The Seattle Fire Buff Society is a non-profit group that supports the Seattle Fire Department and the surrounding area by operating a Rehab/Canteen service on scene during fire fighting or other fire department emergencies. The society publishes a monthly newsletter. "The Alerter" to keep members informed on current events of the group. The society is also interested in preserving the rich and valued history of the Seattle Fire Department. The members meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM location will be held at Fire Station 14. 3224 4th Ave A #1917, Seattle, Washington

On July 25th, 2018, Seattle Fire units responded to a house fire in the north Seattle neighborhood of Wedgewood. While conducting venting operations, a firefighter fell through the roof into the attic, resulting in a Mayday call. Thankfully, the firefighter suffered only minor injuries and was able to exit the house via the front door.

A dump truck crashed into vehicles and a Subway restaurant, injuring five people in Seattle, Washington, Monday morning, August 19. Four of the people had serious injuries and all were taken to a nearby hospital Monday morning, the Seattle Fire Department said.
