Seattle, Washington — On October 30, 2023, Seattle Police Officers arrested a 50-year-old man after he assaulted a victim and two officers in Downtown Seattle. Shortly before 8:30 p.m., dispatch received a call about a suspect who had punched one person and attacked another passerby. According to the victim, he was walking along the sidewalk when the suspect suddenly struck him in the head.

Officers responded to the scene at 3rd Avenue and James Street, where they located the suspect matching the provided description. When police approached him, the suspect assumed a fighting stance and made verbal threats toward the officers. He then attempted to flee but was caught about half a block away.

During the arrest, the suspect resisted, striking two officers and attempting to take one of them to the ground. He sustained a laceration in the struggle. Seattle Fire Department arrived to assess the suspect, while the officers declined medical attention, and the victim also refused medical treatment.

The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment before being booked into King County Jail on assault charges.
