INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At 3:55 pm on July 27, 2024, the Seattle Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1029 S Jackson Street, at the Beam Apartments in the International District southeast of downtown Seattle. Building staff reported a fire in a unit. Located centrally between fire stations 10, 6, and 25, the response was quick. It was determined that there was no fire, and all units were cancelled. The incident lasted forty-one minutes.

This is real audio from SFD Channel 1 from the incident. Audio is fairly aligned with the video. The first messages “Engine 10 fire response” are a couple minutes later than they are supposed to be, but moved to avoid a long wait for units.
0;00 – Dispatch: Engine 10, fire response, 1029 South Jackson Street.
0;04 – E10: Engine 10, 1029 South Jackson Street.
0;08 – Dispatch: Call came from the front desk for fire in unit 626.
0;37 – L10: Ladder 10 at, first (ladder) truck, split (up crew).
0;40 – Dispatch: Ladder 10 at location, first truck, split.
0;44 – E25: …at, 1029 South Jackson. Nothing visible, investigating. Low-Rise SOG (standard operating guideline), on a hydrant. Jackson Command.
0;55 – Dispatch: Engine 25 at location, Low-Rise SOG in effect, you are Jackson Command. On a hydrant.
1;09 – E10: Engine 10 is at, we’re on a hydrant, MDC (mobile data computer) not responding.
1;15 – Dispatch: Okay Engine 10.
1;17 – B2: Battalion 2 is at, Battalion 2 will assume Jackson Command.
1;21 – Dispatch: Battalion 2 assuming Jackson Command.
1;30 – B2: All units from Battalion 2, command post will be the Battalion 2 buggy (vehicle), single 1 3/4 (fire hose) fire, stable incident.
1;43 – L3: Ladder 3’s at, second truck, split.
1;53 – Jackson Command (B2): Engine 25 from Command, you’ll be fire attack. Engine 25 you’ll be fire attack with Engine– (hang on). Engine 10, Engine 10 officer (unit commander) report to Battalion 2 buggy to assist.
2;13 – E25: Engine 25, fire attack.
2:16 – E10: Engine 10, reporting to buggy.
2;44 – Command (B2): Ladder 10 team alpha from Command, you’re gonna be primary search of the fire floor, Ladder 10 team bravo, give me an exterior survey.
2;54 – L10: Command, Ladder 10, no fire. This is a self-cleaning oven. We need ventilation to floor six, recommend we code green (cancel) the rest of the response.

These types of videos are great but difficult! These videos weren’t recorded live- they were archived. It has great on scene footage, but I have to manually add in audio and try to line it up as close as possible.
