On September 13th, 2020, a section of Pier 58 collapsed while it was being removed, sending at least two construction workers into the water. Based on early reports, it appears that the large waterfront fountain plunged into the water, along with surrounding portions of the pier.

Two workers were transported to Harborview in stable condition.

This video shows the initial police and fire response to the incident, including radio traffic from both the police and fire departments. I recorded the fire audio live, and added the police audio later based on the video timestamps. It might not be exact, but it’s close.
