If you like to see lots of unmarked emergency vehicles (some with heavily armed guys inside), this is the collection to watch!

These would probably be the keywords that best fit this video collection : Traffic Nightmare, Emergency Vehicles, NYPD, Rush Hour, VIP, Escorting, More or less important persons, High ranking politicians, No one cares, Completely stuck, Secret Service, FBI, CIA.

In those videos you can see what’s going on in Manhattan during a UN General Assembly with all the street closures and police lanes. The film location is in the area of 42nd street between 2nd and 3rd avenue, not far away from the UN Headquarters building.

Note all the blue front facing lights (probably federal agencies’ vehicles), very uncommon to see in NYC.

Many of the escorting vehicles were given a dash light or a small beacon to make them more visible in traffic but they are normally not equipped with emergency lights and don’t have sirens.

If you look closely you will notice that in most of the NYPD cruisers escorting vehicles the occupants are not wearing police uniforms but suits.

Sorry for some shaky images, it was very difficult to film with that crowd, sometimes holding the camera above my head for several minutes. Also many sidewalks have been closed making it hard to videotape.
