“At 6:01 p.m., gunshots were heard. We had officers in the area, in the immediate area, when these gunshots went off. Officers responded and addressed one of the shooters. That person gave up and was taken into custody. There was a person we believe that was also involved that fled the scene. And officers began an active search for that person.”

“I heard about, I’d say close to 12, sounded a little bit like firecrackers at first. It took like, I would say, a half a second pause and I heard a lot more. I realized it was semi-automatic, probably it sounded like a switch. I looked to my left, I saw at least one individual with a switch, semi- automatic. I saw another one that was two. That’s when I heard over, that there was shots fired. That’s when I took off around the corner.”

STORYLINE:
One suspect has been arrested and police are searching for another following a shooting at a crowded Seattle food festival. The shooting around 6 p.m. Sunday at the annual Bite of Seattle festival killed three people and wounded four others. Assistant Chief Tyrone Davis says detectives don’t have any description of the outstanding suspect. Investigators believe the two were shooting at each other and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The Seattle Fire Department says a 2-year-old boy was among the wounded and the rest were adults.
