The serious danger of radioactive material leakage has trapped a school bus full of children in a radiation contaminated area. Truck drivers are willing to bear the deadly radiation transfer pollution source alone, but they still have to face accountability afterwards. The stark contrast between the indifference of reality and the greatness of ordinary people.
Someone was frantically calling for help along the way, and after arriving at the scene, the Seattle fire department confirmed the danger: the medical radioactive isotope cesium-137 container on the transport vehicle was damaged and leaked. This substance is commonly used in radiotherapy equipment and has extremely high radiation intensity. Close contact can absorb lethal doses of radiation. Several children and passengers inside the nearby school bus were injured and panicked, opening windows to seek help. Firefighters immediately ordered everyone to close the windows and stay away from the edges of the windows. The sealed compartment can temporarily isolate radiation injuries and calm the frightened people inside the car, waiting for disposal.
The radiation dose detector continues to sound an alarm, making it impossible for rescue teams to approach the leaking truck. Once they come into close contact, everyone will suffer irreversible radiation damage, let alone boarding the truck to rescue the child. The driver of the radioactive source transport vehicle took the initiative to stand up and admitted that he had already inhaled radiation. He was willing to move the leaking tank alone and use his health to create a safe rescue space for firefighters, saving the lives of all the children in the vehicle. He did not seek any heroic titles, but only hoped that the children could live safely.
After the crisis was resolved, the plot reversed and the police planned to file a lawsuit against the truck driver who sacrificed himself to save others. The public opinion network has been in an uproar, and relevant departments are eager to find the responsible person to quell public anger, completely ignoring his voluntary sacrifice to save many people. The team members are full of grievances about this, and the reality that the rescuers will be held accountable is regrettable.
The branch line synchronously expands the career and political lines: the superior asks the team members if they are willing to take the management promotion route, but the team members announce their intention to run for mayor, bluntly stating that the current rulers are selfish and narrow-minded, sacrificing the interests of the entire community for their own interests, and are already tired of this situation. As the chief of the fire department, I cannot publicly take sides in my official capacity, but privately I am willing to fully support my team members in running for office, hoping that someone can come forward and change the situation.
