INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At around 2:45 pm on April 15, 2025, much of the Seattle Fire Department’s 2nd Battalion was clearing a structure fire on Columbia Street in the First Hill neighborhood near downtown. The Columbia Street fire burned in a medical building and produced a noticeable amount of smoke, but was quickly put out without serious damage. Just as the response was reduced, another fire-in-building was dispatched at Broadway and E John Street. First due units confirmed a working fire on the exterior of a single-family-residence with a commercial floor. The building was the former home of Queen Sheba, an Ethiopian restaurant that closed in September 2024. Just one month later however, the basement of the building was damaged by a fire (possibly arson). On April 15, however, the building suffered more damage in another fire. The second fire originated in an exterior dumpster, and spread up the siding into the eaves. An occupied brick building suffered heat damage, but was not seriously damaged. The incident lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes, but a flare-up led to several units returning just after 6:30 pm. No injuries were reported, and the cause was undetermined.

MY NOTES
I got a lot of completed videos to post, so stay tuned! However, ClipChamp has been irritating lately for screwing up the aspect ratio of SafetyVid downloads for some reason. Apparently others have had the same problem after an update. Don’t use ClipChamp. Worst come to worst I’ll just screen record the preview and upload that, which doesn’t seem to have a problem. This video was screen recorded rather than from downloaded footage, so it didn’t have the problem.

WTCR seeks to highlight the everyday operations of first responders in several major Washington state cities, as seen from public traffic cameras. This channel focuses on their actions, responses, and of course their shiny trucks. WTCR is not monetized.
Thanks for watching! These descriptions sure take a long time to write…
