INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At 4;23 pm on June 25, 2025, the Seattle Fire Department responded to a reported fire onboard a 40 foot vessel moored at Boatworld Marinas at 2144 Westlake Avenue N. Witnesses reported heavy fire and multiple explosions, as well as the risk of the fire spreading to other boats and the marina structure. Engine 9 was first on scene and confirmed a working fire with exposures; the fire had spread to the roof of the marina above the boat. Several additional units were requested. Ten minutes later, a second alarm was requested. Firefighters were successfully able to contain the fire to only the original boat, and the roof was designed to be burned through to ventilate the fire and prevent its spread to the rest of the marina. The boat eventually sank. There were no reported injuries, and the Coast Guard responded to contain the fuel leak and eventually salvage the vessel from Lake Union.

WTCR seeks to highlight the everyday operations of first responders in several major Washington state cities, as seen from public traffic cameras. This channel focuses on their actions, responses, and of course their shiny trucks. WTCR is not monetized.
Thanks for watching! These descriptions sure take a long time to write…
