Seattle police officers are investigating a fatal collision in the Chinatown-International District this afternoon.

At about 10:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a semi-truck collision into a pedestrian at 12th Avenue South and South King Street. There, police found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. The Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center (HMC).

Despite all life-saving efforts, doctors pronounced him deceased at HMC.

The Real Time Crime Center cameras at this intersection were immediately reviewed by analysts. The cameras captured the fatal incident, and the footage will be used in the investigation process. Officers evaluated the driver and determined that impairment was not a factor. Police did not make an arrest.

Patrol officers processed the scene. This is an open and active investigation assigned to the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad.
