INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At 2:47 pm on May 6, 2025, Engine 11 of the Seattle Fire Department was dispatched to a reported truck fire at Highland Park Way SW and 2nd Avenue SW. They arrived at approximately 2:51 pm and found light smoke showing from a garbage truck. The engine company was a little slow on getting water on the fire, taking about 30 seconds longer than average. Flames that had just began to be visible were quickly extinguished and the incident lasted 32 minutes. A heavy-duty tow truck removed the damaged garbage truck at around 4:30 pm. There were no injuries.

MY NOTES
The first commercial vehicle fire on the channel! There was a fire in the back of a garbage truck in SoDo probably two years ago on camera but I missed most of it.
