INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At 11:32 am on February 13, 2025, the Seattle Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 98 Union Street, a condo complex in downtown Seattle, WA, for a report of a rooftop fire. Engine 5, with a fresh new rig put in service two weeks earlier, was first due, and reported nothing visible. Ladder 1 was the first ladder unit, and firefighters reached the roof. Ladder 1 found a small fire caused by an electrical fire that had burned itself out and the response was reduced to a few units. The incident lasted 50 minutes and was turned over to building staff.

This is real audio from SFD Channel 1 (structure fire ops) from the incident. This audio actually IS synced with footage! I lined up audio using openmhz’s timestamps and some quick mental math. Audio should be lined up pretty accurately.

MY NOTES
Got some good footage out of this one! Pleased with how easy it was to sync up the scanner audio to match the footage, usually it’s a pain. I’ll be working on a video for the S Walker St derelict building fire with smoke column visible incident as well. I was trying to make a video with the live audio, multi-cam strategy, but it ended up with many minutes of footage with nothing happening. I’ll probably just make a video of all the trucks and a bit of smoke footage. I might make a second, unlisted video with full scanner audio for those who enjoy that style.

WTCR seeks to highlight the everyday operations of first responders in several major Washington state cities, as seen from public traffic cameras. This channel focuses on their actions, responses, and of course their shiny trucks. WTCR is not monetized.
Thanks for watching! These descriptions sure take a long time to write…
