INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At 3:52 pm on October 4, 2024, the Seattle Fire Department was dispatched to a rescue extrication on 15th Avenue W near W Armour Street, next to Fire Station 20. According to the Seattle Police Department’s later investigation, a gray Toyota struck a curb and then hit two vehicles in oncoming traffic. It is the gray Toyota that can be seen on its side in the video. Engine 20, the only unit at Station 20, was on scene quickly and possibly extinguished a fire at the scene. When it was discovered two vehicles required extrication, the incident was upgraded to a major heavy rescue. Three patients were extricated from their vehicles. Two occupants of the gray Toyota were seriously injured, as was the occupant of a red Toyota also involved. The third driver had minor injuries. One was transported by SFD Medic 18, one by SFD Aid 1, and at least one was transported by AMR.

WTCR seeks to highlight the everyday operations of first responders in several major Washington state cities, as seen from public traffic cameras. This channel focuses on their actions, responses, and of course their shiny trucks. WTCR is not monetized.
