Happy New Year! It was another year of exciting catches and firebuffing, including seven (!) catches of the new Rescue 1 rig, which is now dispatched to all structure fires. As always, huge thanks to all my viewers and subscribers who make this channel worth it!

#10 – Engine 40 with the airhorn
In late August, I drove to a large structure fire on Aurora Ave, in the former emissions testing building. Engine 40 was just one of several units I caught responding to that incident.

#9 – Ladder 5 coming in hot
SFD’s tillers are always fun to catch – this clip features Ladder 5 responding to a building fire in Ballard, filmed in late July.

#8 – Medic 18 jumps the curb
Traffic is always an issue in Seattle. Here, Medic 18 shows us one way to get around the traffic jam. Filmed in March, as I recovered from a minor surgery.

#7 – Response Parade
I love getting multiple units responding all in a row. I captured these four, along with a lot of other units, just after midnight in mid-August. What looks like smoke in this video is a fog machine on one of the neighbor’s houses.

#6 – Engine 10 and Ladder 1 responding
In July, I met up with @Hall7EmergencyPhotography for some firebuffing in multiple locations. We had the best luck at Station 10 where we caught E10 and L1 going on a run together (plus, various aid units and SPD).

#5 – Multiple units through the smoke
In mid-January, I caught two fires on the same day. This clip shows SFD units responding through the smoke of a burning “tiny house” on Crown Hill. Units seen include the Station 18 units and, I believe, E21.

#4 – Engine 26 and Air 26 responding
In October, I caught E26 and Air 26 going to a boat fire. I’d also spotted Air 26 going to the fire on Aurora, but I got a much better view this time around. Air 26 is based in south Seattle, and fills in when Air 10 is out of service.

#3 – Marine 1 responding
The day before I caught the double fires last January, I caught Marine 1 and E36 responding to a boat fire in Ballard. I’d just parked so I wasn’t in the best filming spot, but it was still good to catch them. I also caught them on dash cam once, but it was even farther away.

#2 – Rescue 1 responding (new rig)
The new Rescue 1 rig went in service in November of 2022, but the only catch I had of it that year was after dark, in the rain. I had much better luck in 2023 and this clip, the first time I caught it during the day, was my favorite. Filmed in April.

#1 – Marine 80 responding
I got my first look at Marine 80 back in 2018, but that time it was quite far away. This time I had a great view, and I filmed it using both my camera and my phone just in case something malfunctioned. This call was for a boat fire in July.
