INCIDENT DESCRIPTION
At 9:06 pm on December 30, 2023, Engines 5 and 10 of the Seattle Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire on southbound State Route 99 to the West Seattle Freeway. The car fire was found a bit north of that area. A car fire response is normally one engine, but a freeway location adds a second engine for water supply and traffic control. The fire spread a bit to the surrounding brush the vehicle was fully involved. Engine 5 arrived on scene around 9:12 pm and Engine 10 about a minute later. The fire was knocked down fairly quickly and firefighters stayed on scene for overhaul for a while. Marshal 5 was dispatched but does not seem to have arrived on scene. The incident lasted one hour and forty-five minutes.

MY NOTES
This one was buried in my downloads folder, but I knew I had to share it when I found it. This is certainly the most dramatic car fire I’ve saved out of Seattle.

WTCR seeks to highlight the everyday operations of first responders in several major Washington state cities, as seen from public traffic cameras. This channel focuses on their actions, responses, and of course their shiny trucks. WTCR is not monetized.

Thanks for watching! These descriptions sure take a long time to write…
