Seattle Veterinary Outreach, a veterinary care nonprofit, said its ambulance was recovered after it was stolen from storage Thursday morning.

In a social media post, Seattle Veterinary Outreach said the ambulance was last seen headed south on Edmonds Way. The nonprofit confirmed to KOMO News Thursday afternoon police recovered the ambulance in Everett.

Although it was recovered, a Seattle Veterinary Outreach spokesperson said the vehicle is now “severely damaged and is not operable.” The nonprofit said police believe the people who stole the ambulance may have been seeking drugs “as the back is damaged and things were thrown about.”

1:48 Photos shared by the Lake McMurray Fire Department near Mount Vernon in Skagit County showed major structural damage to the station after a fire ripped through the building. The department posted on Facebook about the incident early Tuesday morning.

In the post, the LMFD—also known as Skagit County Fire District 15—said the fire was started inside a port-a-potty that was near the building. The temporary bathroom was on-site during construction due to a burst pipe, according to the LMFD.

“We believe it’s arson. I don’t know how else a port-a-potty would start on fire, but that’s where it appears it has started,” said Stanley Boon, Commissioner for LMFD.

The department is unable to use or enter the station at the moment, according to the LMFD. That has caused volunteers and fire trucks to be spread out to different areas, which has also impacted their response times.
