On April 19th 2023, multiple 911 callers reported an explosion in an apartment building, a possible fire, and a man who had serious injuries. Seattle Fire dispatched a full response to the building.

No fire was found, but possible additional explosive devices were seen so the building was evacuated and Seattle PD’s Arson Bomb Squad was called in. Seattle FD’s Hazmat truck and decontamination unit also responded.

I captured footage of the Hazmat truck (4:27) , the Decon trailer (7:06), the Bomb Squad rig (6:34) and a ton of unmarked SPD units. I also captured radio traffic of response, showing how the response changed as the situation evolved.
