On August 5th, 2022, I filmed a large Seattle Fire response near the Shilshole Marina. The call was for a boat taking on water offshore. I arrived shortly before the fireboats did, and got footage of Fireboat 2 and a Coast Guard vessel responding/arriving.

A short while later, I got footage of the Marine Emergency Response Team (Marine 1) arriving in their truck – the last time I captured them was in 2018!

There were concerns that the water was too shallow for Fireboat 2, so they transferred some pumps to Rescue Boat 5 to begin de-watering. The Coast Guard helped with the pumping, and seemed to be towing the boat toward the marina. No injuries reported.

Clip listing:
0:00 – SPD SUV arriving, plus a quick shot of the land-based units on scene
0:15 – Fireboat 2 and Coast Guard responding
0:36 – SFD and USCG boats with the sinking vessel
1:16 – Engine 36 & Marine 1 responding/arriving
2:15 – USCG towing the boat (I think?)
2:38 – Pumping water off the boat, from a different vantage point
3:26 – Quick close-up of parked Marine 1 rig
3:43 – Outro

Outro music: Demilitarized Zone by Ethan Meixsell, via the YouTube audio library.
