Seattle Fire Chief Scoggins stopped by the #MorningUpdateShow to let the community know about the SFD’s intentional efforts to recruit new firefighters from the community. Chief Scoggins mentioned the upcoming King County Diversity and Recruitment Workshop happening this Saturday, April 19th. Scoggins, who has been the Seattle Fire Chief for 7 years also spoke about his personal journey in firefighting as well as how the Seattle Fire Department were national leaders in regards to COVID testing and Vaccination. Scoggins also touched on the Health One program which dispatches an unarmed response to those who are in a mental crisis.
