Vehicle Extrication in Brentwood After Head-on Crash

At 8:32 pm Saturday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a head-on vehicle crash on Sellers Road at Church Road in the unincorporated Brentwood.

Upon arrival by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), it was reported that one female was trapped with her leg pinned under both the steering wheel and seat of the vehicle.

Fire crews used the jaws of life to free the female from the vehicle where she was transported by ground ambulance (AMR) to Liberty High School where a medical helicopter landed and transported her to a local hospital with major leg injuries.

In total, two people were injured and both vehicles were a total loss. The crash is under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.

Note – the video was cut for length and when possible, to show as little of the victim as possible. Crews were on scene for a total of 90 minutes.
