At 4:18PM Monday, Lehigh County transmitted the rescue box for South Church and Columbia Streets for an auto extrication. Chief 35 (Nelson) arrived and reported a two-car crash with one on its roof with two people trapped inside.

Rescue 5 (LC4041) arrived and started removing the doors on the driver side. Rescue 8 (LC3641) arrived and started removing doors on the passenger side. Engine 4 stretched a hand line for safety precautions while the rescue companies performed the rescue operation.

Three people were transported by the Cetronia Ambulance paramedics. The roadway was closed for a few hours while the Whitehall Police investigated.

BONUS FOOTAGE:
At 3:40PM a Whitehall police officer was struck while crossing MacArthur Road from American Street jug handle by a car traveling northbound on MacArthur. Whitehall Fire and Cetronia EMS assisted at the scene. The police officer was transported by EMS to an area hospital for evaluation and later released. The occupant of the other car later complained of injuries and another EMS rig was dispatched. That person was transported to an area hospital.
