Mayor Jenny A. Durkan, Seattle Fire Department (SFD) Chief Harold Scoggins, Public Health – Seattle & King County (PHSKC) Interim Director Dennis Worsham, and Seattle Youth Commissioner Ahana Roy discuss the future of the City of Seattle’s COVID-19 testing and vaccine efforts. The Mayor and local officials articulated the continued importance of testing and vaccinations as cases rise in King County and the delta variant becomes more prevalent. She announced that the City of Seattle is transitioning its testing and vaccination efforts to partners on July 31, 2021. UW Medicine will offer free COVID-19 testing at the Aurora and SODO hubs without a gap in service, in addition to testing at the Rainier Beach and West Seattle hubs. Vaccination continues to be available at pharmacies, community health centers, and health care providers including the Downtown Public Health Center.
