Last week, @FB2 Response Videos and I met up for a short firebuffing session at Harborview Medical Center in downtown Seattle. In addition to being Washington State’s only level 1 trauma and burn center, Harborview also hosts a Seattle Fire station.

Medic 1, Medic 10, Medic 44 (Medical Officer/Supervisor) and Battalion 3 (EMS Chief) are all stationed at the hospital.

We spent about 90 minutes there, and managed to catch Medic 1 responding and transporting in one of the new medic rigs. Medics 28 and 32 also made brief appearances, presumably after dropping patients off at the hospital.

Seattle Fire units typically don’t do patient transport, but they do transport critical injuries, and other patients who can’t wait for an AMR transport.

Medics 45 and 46 were also parked at the station (46 can be seen at 0:42, and 45 has the same kind of rig as 44). I believe M45 and M46 are MSOs, just like M44, but I’ve only ever seen M44 dispatched. If anyone has any info on how the three units operate, let me know in the comments.

Big thanks to Aaron for hanging out, and hopefully we’ll get even more catches next time you’re in town!
