To clarify Aid 18 is not a new unit, it is Medic 18 with different Placards.

At the time of filming the Seattle Fire Department staffed the unit with two firefighter/EMTs. Other medic units in the City to include Medic 17 in the north end were covering responses in that area. The department was short staffed for firefighter/paramedics at the time and therefore was not able to staff Medic 18/Aid 18 as a medic unit.
