On June 24th, 2020, Seattle Fire crews were dispatched to a rescue extrication call in north Seattle’s Crown Hill neighborhood. Upon arrival, crews found that no one was actually trapped (despite an SUV being on its side), and everyone was put back into service except for Engine 35.
I was able to film Battalion 4 responding before the call was reduced, as well as an American Medical Response ambulance headed to the scene. The AMR unit was waved off by SFD on scene – apparently the vehicle occupants either decided to self-transport to the hospital, or not go at all.
Clip listing:
0:00 – Battalion 4 responding
0:24 – Seattle Police unit repositioning
0:29 – shot of the vehicles involved in the collision
0:40 – AMR ambulance responding to the scene
1:07 – vehicles driving around the blocking SPD unit, and going into oncoming traffic to get around the collision scene. The officer ended up moving his vehicle farther back, and diverting people onto a side street.
1:29 – Engine 35 clearing the scene.
