On March 22nd, 2019, Seattle Fire units responded for a report of a kite boarder who seemed to be in distress. A Water Rescue Response was dispatched, and the patient was brought to shore.

While I was waiting at 15th and Market, I noticed that several units headed northbound on 15th exited onto Leary Way (instead of continuing up to where I was). I decided to reposition to Leary and Market, and was walking there when Rescue 1 arrived and got the “Code Green.” If I’d stayed on the corner, I would have gotten Rescue 1 & Aid 14 going by with a proper response … ah well, maybe next time.
