On March 2nd, 2019, Seattle Fire units were dispatched to a reported fire in an assisted living facility in West Seattle. A caller reported black smoke coming from a unit, and that the door was hot to the touch.

The fire building was less than a half mile from Seattle Fire Station 32, so Engine 32, Medic 32, Ladder 11 and Battalion 7 arrived on scene very quickly.

Engine 36 established a supply for Engine 32, while the Ladder 11 crew investigated the building interior.

The source of the smoke ended up being less dramatic than the initial report, but I thought this video was still an interesting look at the early stages of a Building Fire response.

Video highlights:
0:06 – dispatch tones and unit list from the Computer Aided Dispatch system
0:58 – first units arriving on scene
3:11 – camera zooms in to show firefighters pulling hose
5:10 – Ladder 1 and Air 10 are seen arriving on scene
5:28 – Ladder 11 discovers the source of the fire alarm
